˃˃˃ Web of Science evaluation started [as of 28 August 2008]
Volume 11 is the first of three consecutive volumes evaluated for inclusion in the Web of Science. Inclusion will increase the accessibility of articles and continue to signal the quality of science published to the entire community. In times of multinational professional publishers and increased competitiveness this is not easily achieved.
If the aims of Myrmecological News also are your aims, please increase the impact of Myrmecological News by citing its papers in your research! In this context please note that, should the need arise to cite the abridged name, the only valid abbreviation is “Myrmecol. News”.

Now also the two articles of volume 11 describing new ant species have been published online (under the current version of the ICZN, online publications are not taxonomically significant and articles that ensue changes of zoological nomenclature can thus only be published online after publication of the print version).
These two articles are:
Vietnamese species of the genus Acanthomyrmex Emery, 1893 - A. humilis sp.n. and A. glabfemoralis Zhou & Zheng, 1997 (Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Myrmicinae)
Eguchi, K., Bui, T.V. & Yamane, S. Check it out

Myrmecological News boasts an enlarged Editorial Advisory Board and now has a total of fifteen eminent scientists from all continents that span practically all subfields of myrmecology "on board".
˃˃˃ Scope now covers all biogeographic zones
With immediate effect we now accept manuscripts on any ant topic from any part of the globe. Unfortunately, page charges still apply as sales of Myrmecological News do not cover the production costs, even though all editorial work is performed honorarily. The publisher, the Austrian Society of Entomofaunistics (ÖGEF), can sponsor articles which deal with the Palaearctic Region or with general myrmecological aspects, but due to their statutes cannot extend sponsoring to other faunal regions. However, all students and any authors from developing countries are invited to apply for exemption from page charges! [as of 3 May 2008]
